Types of Immigration Evaluations We Provide
-
For individuals fleeing persecution in their home country due to race, religion, nationality, political opinion, or membership in a particular group.
How we help: We assess the psychological impact of the trauma you’ve experienced and how it continues to affect your well-being. Our evaluation can help establish credibility, emotional distress, and the lasting effects of persecution.
-
For survivors of certain crimes (e.g., domestic violence, assault) who have cooperated with law enforcement.
How we help: We assess and explain the psychological toll the crime has had on you, helping demonstrate the seriousness of the harm and how it has shaped your emotional and mental health.
-
For survivors of human trafficking, including labor or sex trafficking.
How we help: Our trauma-informed evaluations offer sensitive, thorough documentation of the long-term psychological consequences of trafficking. This helps strengthen your case by clearly illustrating the trauma you’ve endured.
-
For individuals (of any gender) who have suffered abuse by a U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident spouse, parent, or child.
How we help: We document the emotional and psychological impact of the abuse, including symptoms of PTSD, depression, or anxiety. Our report provides insight into how the abuse has affected your mental health and your need for protection.
-
For immigrants whose removal or denial of legal status would cause extreme hardship to a U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident spouse, parent, or child.
How we help: We evaluate the emotional, psychological, and physical impact that your deportation would have on your qualifying family member(s). This includes assessing symptoms like anxiety, depression, or trauma-related stress.
-
For individuals in removal proceedings who can show that their deportation would cause exceptional and extremely unusual hardship to a qualifying U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident family member.
How we help: Similar to hardship waivers, we assess how your removal would affect your family’s mental and emotional health — especially children or other vulnerable family members — and provide clinical support for your request to remain in the U.S.
What to Expect - Step-by-Step
We know the immigration process can feel overwhelming — especially when it involves sharing deeply personal experiences. Our goal is to make this process as safe, clear, and supportive as possible. Here's what you can expect when working with us:
1. Free Phone Consultation (15 minutes)
We’ll briefly discuss your case type, timeline, and goals. This is also a chance for you to ask questions and make sure we’re the right fit.
There’s no pressure — just a warm, honest conversation to help you feel supported from the beginning.
2. Evaluation Sessions (1–2 appointments)
Sessions are held via secure, HIPAA-compliant video. We take a gentle, nonjudgmental approach, allowing you to share your story at your own pace. Sessions typically last 60–90 minutes.
You don’t need to have everything “figured out.” We’ll guide you with compassion and care.
3. Attorney Collaboration (with your permission)
With your consent, we can coordinate directly with your immigration attorney to ensure that the evaluation aligns with your legal strategy and addresses the most relevant areas of concern.
We’re here to be part of your team — not just your clinician.
4. Optional Collateral Collection
If helpful, we may ask for supporting documents such as letters from loved ones, medical records, or previous evaluations. These can provide helpful context but aren’t always required.
Your privacy is always respected, and we’ll only request what truly supports your case.
5. Written Report (Delivered in 2–3 weeks)
You’ll receive a comprehensive, trauma-informed report tailored to your immigration case. All reports meet clinical and legal standards appropriate for submission to USCIS or immigration court.
Reports are shared securely with you and/or your attorney, and we allow time for revisions if needed.
6. Rush Options Available
On a tight deadline? We offer expedited evaluations and reports (often within 5–7 business days), depending on availability. Let us know your timeline upfront and we’ll do our best to meet it.
7. Bilingual Services Available
We offer evaluations in both English and Spanish to ensure you can express yourself clearly and comfortably.
We believe language should never be a barrier to being understood.
